5Km Race - 07h15 am
The 5km route (fun run) is for the whole family with most of the run on jeep track on a beatiful, scenic game farm.
12Km Race - Start Time: 07h00am
The 12km race is well suited for the novice runner or road junkies who would like to cross over to the other side!!!!! The route is on good paths most of the time with no serious hills. There will be two water points on this circular route and lots of good German beer at the end.
45Km Race - Start Time: 04h00am
The 45km route is a point to point mountain route. This is definitely not for the novice runner with 90% of the run on a mountain ridge. Definite ankle twisters if you are not well prepared for off road running.
You will be expected to carry all your own food and at least 3 liters of water as there is no water on the mountain. There will be a water point at the 35km mark which is situated at the base of the dam wall. There is an incentive on the race for the first man to complete the route in under four hours. He will receive R500 and the first lady to complete the route in under four and a half hours will receive R500.
Your average runner will be on the course for at least 8 to 10 hours. There will be a sweeper team at the back to handle any mishaps that may occur. The athletes will be given a map as the route is not marked and there is a list of compulsory gear that the athletes need to carry. There will be a compulsory race briefing on the Friday night at the Brauhaus where the competitors will receive a pasta meal free of charge.
The bus will leave the Brauhaus at 4.00am on the Saturday morning and will transport the athletes to the start which is at the base of the Magalliesberg Mountain range. Race starts at 4.30am.
